The extra Flikr tools are pretty cool, I imagine I would need a lot of photos on my account to do some of the really fun stuff.

Monkey Mozaic

This is what I made for thing number five, I used the mozaic creation tool.

Flikr is a lot of fun! I might check it out more in the future when I need photo references for my paintings. Overall it was very user friendly and comfortable to explore.

Here is a cell from an animation I made for fun the other day.

I had some difficulty getting the confirmation password but other than that thing #3 went pretty smooth. I think the RSS is very practical and can really speed things up, it will be fun to read other peoples posts.

Thing 2

I think the notion of Library 2.0 is very relavant. Even though our circulation rates are icreasing we need to stay competative and insure that the needs of patrons are being met. I think internet resources are extreemly valuable for the future but I dont see it completely replacing the hard copy book in the least bit. At least not when it comes to fiction. People want to sit down and read a good book, there is just no substitute on the web. So even though we need to stay competative I dont forsee Libraries as becoming some kind of cryptic storage facility, people will always want to read the old fashion way. When it comes to research, it is more conveniant to type in your subject and have everything at your fingertips. Who wants to carry around giant reference books sifting out the details. I think this is where the balance ocurrs. When you read for pleasure, you want to hold the book and relax, when you do research, you want everything right now, the internet is best.

Thing 1

Setting up a blog and avatar was very useful in learning how to show people the process, the instructions were clear and helpful. It was fun looking at the weird things to put on my avatar but in the end I settled for something normal that kind of looks like me.
